The compositional process for Technique was more abstract than Textures. Once again, I let the music dictate the direction and create the ambience. As the album began to take shape, it grew into an adventure story with antagonists and protagonists. This was completely unexpected and a wonderful surprise as well.
While there is no definitive story, the music builds on linear textual ideas, as if a story were taking place. Each piece is a journey, a collection of images that convey a meaning or mood. There might be a linear connection between each track, but none was intended or planned.
